Mom’s definitely dressed up, but those eyes of hers. They were so bright and cheerful in Chapter 1 … then, mid story, shortly after the incident in Ed’s basement, we saw panels where mom’s eyes looked half open, almost vacant. Now … they’re just … creepy! 😟 I keep wondering if mom is too far gone now.

Great catch! Funny how some of those eerie panels can trigger memories of completely unrelated books or songs. Seeing the ‘greeters’ standing there with a tray of cupcakes reminded me of a lyric from an old rock tune called “Hotel California”: “‘Relax’ said the night man … We are programmed to receive … You can check out any time you like … But you can never leave”
